2009 OLOA - Final Results - finally…
The 2009 One Lap of America is over. Well, its been over for a while now… I know, I was majorly slacking there and should have really updated this a while ago; lets just go with I’ve been busy with other racing….
Beaver Run went without a hitch, and a nice short drive back to South Bend that night followed by a good dinner and some fun at the bar with all the One Lappers made for a good end of the event. Saturday morning we woke to a cold and overcast day, threatening rain. Interesting for the ‘dry’ skid-pad we were to do. A bit to my surprise, the car was offered up to me for this last event. Just 3 circles in one direction, then turn around and try to reverse the dizzyness! It went pretty well, although it was just starting to drizzle with some high humidity - not great for a quick skid pad time, but ended up with a 20th overall finish and a 0.928g run. That run was good for 2nd in class.
With all the events run, and the scores tallied up, Schaut Speed Racing finished 4th in class, 12th overall. Not bad for first year with the car and the incredibly tough competition. The rest of the Luxury Sedan class finished 7, 8, 10, 18 and 43rd.
So now we wait the long, grueling year until the 2010 edition arrives….
Until then, Keep checking here as I will be posting up happenings and results for the other part of Schaut Speed Motorsports - Spec Miata Racing. Both Dan and Ben compete in this class. And hey, I’m on the road heading to the June Sprints as I write! (told ya I’ve been busy!)
